Situation
Support Pack 1 of Brightstor ARCserve Backup 11.1 was applied
Server Abend or freeze during backup session
Server runs out of memory resources during backup sessions

Resolution
Add the following lines to asconfig.ini under the section"NetWare Backup/Restore":
UseMultipleReadThreads=FALSE
PerformanceNonNakoma=TRUE
These parameters are also listed in the readme of SP1, but they
did not mention the problem with fstape.nlm.
Additional Information
FSTAPE.NLM progressively consumes all the available server
memory
Even if the mentioned parameters will fix the memory consumption issue for the FSTAPE.NLM, we also recommend the application of the CA Patch "QO78480" that can prevent further abends during the backup of the SYS volume of the NetWare servers.
