Situation
When a NAL
application shortcut is placed in the Start Menu, the next time the
workstation starts up and tries to launch the application
shortcut the following error message will come up
ERROR:"Failed to open""- Error: 53510 HRESULT 0x80004005 Unknown
Error"
Resolution
To change
the timing behavior for the NAL Engine the following registry
setting (DWORD) DelayExec needs to be created in"HKLM\SOFTWARE\\Novell\\ZENworks\\NALExplorer\" with a time delay
value in seconds that delays the launch of a NAL application by the
given time. This delay time can be configured via a registry
setting based on the setup.
To obtain
access to a hot patch with the fix for this problem, follow the
instructions in KB 3484245 "Updates to Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop
Management" which can be found athttps://www.novell.com/support
Additional Information
This is a timing
issue that at that point the NAL engine is not fully
initialized.
