Environment

Windows 2000
Windows 2003
SLED
SLES
RedHat

Situation

By default, preferences for policy simulation output are saved to the plug-in directory. Prior to Designer version 1.2 M4, if you save your custom XDS documents to the plug-in directory, the documents will be deleted if you run an upgrade or reinstall.

Resolution

To prevent custom XDS documents from being deleted, save them to some other directory than the plug-in directory. For example, save them to the workspace directory or change the default output directory to the workspace directory.
