Identity Manager on Windows 2003 R2 does not install SecretStore Dependency

Novell Identity Manager Identity Manager 3.0

Situation

When you install IDM 3.0.1 on Windows 2003 R2, the file MSVCR71.DLL is not installed, as a result, SecretStore will not be able to load. Your SecretStore functionality will be completely broken if you do not install this file. This is only for eDirectory 8.7.3.x code branch. eDirectory 8.8 includes SecretStore 3.4 and installs it no matter what.

Resolution

Two options exist to resolve the problem.

1. Install the latest SecretStore Build from the SDK.

2. Copy the file MSVCR71.DLL to the /novell/nds directory. On a default install of Windows 2003 R2, MSVCR71.DLL is installed as part of the .NET framework.
