Situation
What IP addresses are needed to access novell.patchlinksecure.net?
Resolution
ZPM 6.3 and 6.4 access the central patch server via DNS name by default on port 443, shown on the options Subscription Service page as Subscription Host: novell.patchlinksecure.net:443 and translates to the following regional servers

It may be necessary to configure your firewall to grant access to these addresses for the ZPM server: the default port for access is 443.

In the event that after upgrading to ZPM 6.3/6.4, license replication fails, see KB article 414 at http://support.lumension.comfor one possible explanation
In order to test basic communication, try telnetting tonovell.patchlinksecure.net on port 443 from the ZPM server - no response will be given, but if the telnet session is established, at least access on that port is possible. Accessing via a browser does not give an indication of communications (as it did with 6.2).
