Environment

Novell User Application 3.0.1
Novell Identity Manager 3.0.1
Novell GroupWise 7
Novell eDirectory 8.8 for All Platforms

Situation

The Approval Notification email is sent to the correct person for the Approval Activity within the Provisioning Request. However, URL that is supplied in the email has host name (dns) and port for the Novell GroupWise 7.0 server and the host name (dns) and port for the Novell User Application server.
You can review a list of all requests pending your approval athttps://mail.novell.com:80/IDM/getAFTaskList.do.
As a result, when the Approval person attempts to use one of the above URLs they are presented with a
"The page cannot be displayed" error in the browser.

Resolution

During the 'Configuring the User Application' step of the installation of the User Application, the GroupWise Server information was entered into the 'Email Notify Host' and 'Email Notify Port' fields instead of the User Application Server information. According to the 'Installing the User Application' section of the 'Installing the User Application' guide of the Identity Manager 3.0.1 Installation Guide
"Email Notify Host:
Specify the JBoss server hosting the Identity Manager User Application. For example:
myJBossServer
This value replaces the $HOST$ token in e-mail templates. The URL that gets constructed is the link to provisioning request tasks and approval notifications.

Email Notify Port:
Used to replace the $PORT$ token in e-mail templates used in provisioning request tasks and approval notifications. "
Steps to change the Email Notify Host and Port information:
1. Run the configupdate utility located in the idm install directory (i.e.: C:\Novell\idm)
2. When the User Application Configuration wizard appears scroll down to the Email section
3. Replace the Email Notify Host and Email Notify Port information with the correct host name (dns) and runtime port for the User Application environment
4. Press the OK button
