How to synchronize server profile settings on mobile devices.

Situation

How can I synchronize downloading attachments on all phones ?
How can I synchronize PUSH settings ?

Resolution

The easiest and probably recommended way how to do it is creating new profile instead of modifying a default one. Thought, it is still possible to modify a default profile.
1. PUSH settings
  • From GroupWise Mobile server start Admin Console.
  • Expand Intellisync Mobile Suite.
  • Expand Profile Settings | General | Push/ReadySync.
  • Create new profile or edit default one.
  • Set / configure desired settings and on a right site uncheck"Allow User Override" check-box. This part is essential because leaving it active means any user phone settings take a precedence.
  • In case a default profile was modified, it is necessary only to ask users to do next synchronization. Those settings will be pushed down to a user mobile phone and become greyed out.
  • In case of having new profile, it is necessary to assign it to existing user(s). Simply view properties of a mobile user and click on "Edit Profiles" button. Here click on a tab that corresponds to a mobile device assigned to this user, for instance Symbian. In Push/ReadySync line click on drop-down menu and select a custom profile.
2. Inbox & Outbox attachment settings.
  • From GroupWise Mobile server start Admin Console.
  • Expand Intellisync Mobile Suite.
  • Expand Email accelerator | Inbox & Outbox item.
  • Here create new profile or edit default one.
  • Configure desired settings for attachments and uncheck "Allow User Override" check-box. This part is essential because leaving it active means any user phone settings take a precedence.
