Resolution
Corrective Actions:
First in GWCheck, verify the Post Office Path is correct or the path follows the 8.3 format or less.
Case 1
1.In the post office directory rename the NGWCHECK.DB

(search words: corruption corrupt)
This can also happen when there are multiple events or repetitive actions scheduled for the same time period. To resolve this space out the scheduled events and actions.
OR
2.If renaming the ngwcheck.db does not resolve the issue, run a Validate and Recover Database against the owning domain, and then rebuild the post office. After the rebuild, the GWCheck should start successfully.
3.Rebuild post office. In ConsoleOne right click post office / choose GroupWise utilities / System maintenance / Rebuild database.

Case 2
1.When running the dbcopy v7.0.2 utility on Linux, you need to copy the file 'gwcktxus.fil' file from /opt/novell/groupwise/gwcheck/lib to /opt/novell/groupwise/agents/lib directory.
or
2. When running dbcopy with the -l switch (change the guardian to lowercase the database files), change to the directory where the gwenlxen.fil is located before starting the dbcopy procedure. This is usually found in the /opt/novell/groupwise/agents/bin

Additional Information
DF28 is always a problem accessing or using the NGWCHECK.DB.
A cause of this error, is having the wrong Post Office Path in the GWCheck utility.
The NGWCHECK.DB in the Post Office directory is damaged.
The DF28 error can also by caused by entering the path to the Archive directory, but not having Archive selected under Database Type.
