Environment
Novell
ZENworks Asset Management 7 - ZAM7 SP1
Situation
After the
collection client receives its needed updated files it returns back
to an Invalid state. This process continues in a constant
loop. Within the Process control panel, View Detailed status,
you will see the client status go from Upgrading back to an Invalid
state.
Resolution
Fixed in ZAM 7.0 IR
9.
If downloading the Interim Release manually fromhttps://download.novell.com, the filename is ZAM700SP1ir9.EXE. The Interim releases can also be set up within the ZAM Manager for the Task server to check the site on a scheduled basis, and download and apply them automatically. Please refer to the Help Section for details of how to set up automatic downloads if desired.
Each interim release is cumulative. If Interim Release 9 is not available due to a newer interim release being placed on the website, be assured that the code needed is in the later release.

If unable to
apply the update you can try the workaround as described
below:
a) There is
an immediate workaround for you to try. If your intention is
not to do any scans in the immediate future, then what you need to
do is to disable the schedule. The easiest way to do this
would be edit the schedule's ending
date to a past date. Wait a few minutes and refresh the Process Control Panel with the Option Sets tab visible. After a minute, the schedule show change to black (instead of green) indicating that the schedule is disabled.
b) Another workaround, if your intention is to do scans, edit the option set and check the collector option so that the collector will run. You will also need to stop and restart the collection server service.
