Resolution
Update the timezone package. Current Service Packs and maintenance updates can be retrieved from Novell Customer Center or through the usual update mechanisms.
The DST changes for Canadian provinces and territories are included as of patch-11434, Recommended update for Timezone.
Once the timezone.rpm has been installed it is also necessary to relink the local time zone setting with the updated time zone data. This can be done through Yast by resetting or reselecting the local time zone for the server or by executing the following command:
zic -l {local timezone}
examples
zic -l Canada/Eastern
zic -l Canada/Mountain
Additional information on manually updating and testing time zone information is available in
