Environment
Novell Identity Manager 3.5.1
Situation
I have noticed in IDM 3.5.1 traces an element in events called: cached-time="20071122080126.759Z" . The operations is something like:
I guess it's a timestamp that
signals when the event was written into the TAO file, but I
wouldn't like to guess. Questions:
- What is it exactly?
- Why was it added?
- Are there processes that use it?
- Are there potential scenarios where it would be convenient to use it?
- How would you use it?

Resolution
It is the time the event was written into the cache. It was added in 3.5.1 as part of the "get driver statistics" functionality that is accessible via dxcmd or iManager. You might use it in a policy to see if it is taking a long time to process events. For example, to see if they are backed up.
