Situation
Can't login to iChain ICS_TREE using NetWare Client |
The TUNE.NCF file was modified to disable login in the iChain 2.0 FCS build. |
Resolution
1) Load NCPIP.NLM. Note: NCPIP.NLM was
renamed for security issues. Either rename
c:/nwserver/ncpip.old to ncpip.nlm and then load ncpip.nlm or load
c:/nwserver/ncpip.old.
2) Edit the TUNE.NCF as per instructions in the TUNE.NCF
file*, or enter the following SET parameters at the server
console**:
SET NCP EXCLUDE IP ADDRESSES = NONE
SET NCP OVER UDP = ON
*To edit the SYS:\SYSTEM\TUNE.NCF file load EDIT at the NetWare System Console.
**To get to the NetWare System console you must first unlock
the ICS console (Type UNLOCK and then password when prompted.
The password will be the config user's password.) Then type
DEBUG. The DEBUG password is proxydebug on iChain 2.3.
Once NCP has been enabled on the server, use the following credentials:
User: ichainadmin.ics
Password: novell
Context: ics
Remember that this is a security hole. Login should be disabled when finished.
