Situation
Symptoms:
Unable to login using Client but WebAccess works fine
Login using GroupWise 7 Support Pack 2 Client crashes the
client
Login using an older client works fine
GroupWise Client crashes during login
GroupWise Client crashes while login
Resolution
Corrective
Actions:
If the GroupWise Agents have been upgraded to GroupWise 7
Support Pack 2 HotPatch1a or later, please use the GroupWise 7
Support Pack 3 Client
OR
If the GroupWise Agents have not been upgraded to GroupWise 7
Support Pack 2 HotPatch1a or later, please follow the steps listed
below
1. Launch ConsoleOne
2. Right Click on the Post Office to which problem user
belongs and click Properties
3. Click GroupWise | Post Office Settings
4. Change the Access mode to Client/Server and Direct. If the
access mode is already Client/Server and Direct, please go to step
12
5. Click Apply and Close
6. Shut down the Post Office Agent
7. Right Click on the Post Office Agent and click GroupWise
Utilities | System Maintenance
8. Click Rebuild Database and click Run
9. Make sure that the Path points to the Post Office Directory
and click OK
10. Once the Rebuild is complete, Click Close twice
11. Start the Post Office Agent
12. Install GroupWise 7 Support Pack 3 Client on one
workstation (At the time of writing this TID, GroupWise 7 Support
Pack 3 has not been released. Please contact Novell
Technical Services to get the Client and if the Service
Request has been opened for getting the Client,
the Service Request will be credited/refunded)
13. Right Click on the GroupWise Client shortcut and type the
following in target after grpwise.exe
/ph-pathToPostOfficeDirectory /@u-problemUserID
Example. C:\Novell\GroupWise\grpwise.exe /ph-Z:\Po
/@u-userabc
14. Click OK
15. Double Click on the GroupWise Client
16. Please enter the Problem User's password and the user
should be logged in
17. If the Folder list is hidden, please enable the folder
list by clicking on View | Folder List and click File | Exit
18. Now try to login normally using the GroupWise 7 Support
Pack 2 Client and it should work
