rule: value
Additional Information
Loading DHCPSRVR in an envrionment that contains many DHCP subnets
can take a prolonged amount of time to process and load each
subnet. Adding an eDirectory index to the NCP server object that
DHCP is loading on will speed loading and normally resolve all DHCP
issues caused by latency during loading. For example: An
environment that might normally take 15-30 minutes to fully load
will load in approximately 1 min after the index has been defined
and made active.
This has sometimes shown intermittent results so far as speed is concerned and the eDirectory team is looking into a possible defect with the index. However, for most customers this works fine. Others have reported the necessity of performing this modification on all replica holding servers, but this has not yet been confirmed.
