Situation
When users login and authenticate using the Novell Client, a
Network Address property gets added to the user object in the
eDirectory database. This property will have as its value or
values an address in the form of an IP or IPX addresses in
wire format, depending on the protocol used on the network.
This address represents the address of the workstation the user
used to log in.
Under certain circumstances the Network Address property may be cleared out off of the user object without a warning. The Network Address property is not necessary for eDirectory to function well. No one will experience any problem in eDirectory because this property is missing on a user object. However, if an application relies on this property to be present on user objects it could prevent it from working properly.

Resolution
The only current solution for this random behavior is to initiate a
re-login using the Novell Client. Currently, only
the Novell Client has the ability to generate this Network Address
property on a user object. The problem has only been
seen so far on the NetWare platform.
