Environment
Sentinel 6.0.xx Sentinel Control Center
Situation
After a fresh install of Sentinel 6.0 or after upgrading from
Sentinel 5.1.3 to 6.0, I do not see the Correlation tab in SCC,
(Sentinel Control Center). *See Screenshot1 below*
Resolution
Sentinel 6.0 has moved the Correlation Rule Manager, Correlation
Engine Manager, and Correlation Action Manager to its own separate
tab. By default, the "View Correlation Tab" permission is not set
for any of the users in SCC upon install or upgrade. If you have
logged into SCC prior to setting the permission to "View
Correlation Tab" and exited while choosing the option to Save User
Preferences then you will not see the Tab even after setting the
correct permissions. The reason for this is that you have saved the
User preference to not view the correlation tab. In order to see
the Correlation tab you must now log into SCC without using the
previously saved preferences.
Follow these instructions to load SCC without User preferences on *nix and Windows Systems:
Windows:
1) Open the file %ESEC_HOME%\bin\control_center.bat.
2) Edit the end of the line by adding "-nopref" (no quotes) after console.jar
3) Save.
4) Open the Control Center using the control_center.bat file. This will force the SCC to open without preferences being applied, and the tab will appear.
5) After you have successfully logged in and see the new tabs, the -nopref argument may be removed from the file, and you may return to using the desktop shortcut.
*nix:
1) Open the file $ESEC_HOME\bin\control_center.sh.
2) Edit the end of the line by adding "-nopref" (no quotes) after console.jar
3) Save.
4) Open the Control Center using the control_center.sh file. This will force the SCC to open without preferences being applied, and the tab will appear.
5) After you have successfully logged in and see the new tabs, the -nopref argument may be removed from the file, and you may return to using the desktop shortcut.
You should now be able to log into SCC and save the preferences with the views and tabs you desire.
