Environment

Novell Virtual Office
Novell NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 6

Situation

There is no submit button on the username/password web browser page when sending a file within VirtualOffice. This problem occurs when the following conditions are met :
  • The SYS:/tomcat/4/webapps/NetStorage/WEB-INF/classes/Settings.properties file contains a
    MailHost = {mailserver.that.uses.authenticated.smtp}
    line.
  • The user sending the file has an e-mail address specified in ConsoleOne.
  • The sending of the file is occuring in VirtualOffice.
To reproduce the error :
  1. Log in to VirtualOffice.
  2. Clicking on the Files button (the folder at the top).
  3. Browse to a file to send.
  4. Click on "File" on the webpage (not the browser).
  5. Click on "Mail".
  6. Fill out the mail form.
  7. Click "Send File".
  8. Note that there is no button to submit the credentials requested on the next page.

Resolution

The best work around is to utilize a mail server in the SYS:/tomcat/4/webapps/NetStorage/WEB-INF/classes/Settings.properties file that does not require authentication for sending files (an internal mail relay, for example).
