Environment

Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Support Pack 1 - ZDM7 SP1
Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Support Pack 1 - ZDM7 SP1 Middle Tier
Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Support Pack 1 - ZDM7 SP1 Management Agent

Situation

When launching an application which uses the secure identity wallet, after a password was changed, a NetIdentity authentication window will appear, forcing the user to enter their username and password.

Resolution

Fixed in ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Service Pack 1 Interim Release 3a, available at https://download.novell.com

Additional Information

When a password in eDirectory is expired and a user logs in, the password change event is triggered, but this password change is not recognized by NetIdentity. In that particular case, the password which NetIdentity stores in the secure identity wallet is still the previous password. This affects the applications that use the secure identity wallet, as a result an empty NetIdentity authentication window will appear, asking for username and password.
