Environment

Novell eDirectory 8.8 for Linux

Situation

Can't install an eDirectory 8.8sp2 server into an existing tree using the ndsconfig -p switch.
Can't install an eDirectory 8.8sp2 RedHat Linux Server into an existing tree

Resolution

The work around for this issue is to install openSLP, version 1.2.1, on to the server going into the tree; and configure the server and all other servers in the tree to talk to a Directory Agent using openSLP.
Look for this issue to be fixed in an upcoming patch. However, note that SLP is highly recommended and is a requirement for Trees with more than 3 servers in the Tree.
