Environment
Novell GroupWise 7
Novell GroupWise 7 Service Pack 1Novell GroupWise GWTuner.exe
Situation
When running GWTuner to create a transform file, after hitting the "finish" button, an "A WIndows Installer Database Error has occurred 0(110)" is displayed and the transform file is not created.
Resolution
1. Remove the read only attributes from the files in the
client directory on the server.
2. Delete "C:\Documents and Settings\\Local
Settings\Temp\groupwise.msi" file from the workstation running
GWtuner.exe.
3. Close GWTuner and run it again.
Additional Information
This was happening because the GroupWise client directory was
copied to the server from a CD, but the read only attribute was not
removed. One of the steps that GWTuner performs is to
copy the groupwise.msi file to the user's "C:\Documents and
Settings\\Local Settings\Temp" folder. Since this
file was flagged as read only it is copied to that folder with the
read only attribute. Simply changing the attribute in the
client folder on the server won't solve the problem
because GWTuner can't delete the file from the
temp folder due to the read only flag. So once you've
had the problem on a particular machine you would continue to have
it until you remove the read only attribute on the server as well
as delete the file from the temp directory.
