NDPS Manager is slow to load

Loading NDPS manager takes upto 10 minutes to load all printer agents
If printers are disconnected when loading NDPS manager it takes even longer to load NDPS

Following the steps outlined below improved the load times dramatically.

1. Check that the latest NDPSGW is beining used
2. Check Gateway load strings to confirm that only the Novell Gateway is being used
3. • Open Novell Remote Managment http://x.x.x.x:8008
   • NDPS Manager Health
   • Advanced NDPS Manager Information
   • Generate Report
   • Check "Gateway Load String" box and click "Generate report" button
   • Make sure ALL printer agent Gateway Load Strings start with NDPSGW
4. If any of these strings start with something other than NDPSGW, fix those following the steps below
5. • At the server console, go to NDPS Manager screen:
   • Hit ENTER on the Printer Agent in the Printer Agent List
   • Hit ENTER on Information
   • Hit ENTER on Gateway Status
   • Hit the INSERT key
   • type in the following:
   • • NDPSGW PORT=LPR HOSTADDRESS=[IP ADDRESS OF THE PRINTER] PRINTERNAME=PASSTHROUGH
   • Hit ESCAPE
   • Select YES to save changes
   • Select Status and Control
   • Shut Down Printer
   • Select Status and Control
   • Select Start up Printer
