ZLM services do not load and ZCC is not accessible

Environment

Novell ZENworks 7.2 Linux Management - ZLM7.2 IR1

Situation

ZLM services do not load and ZCC is not accessible

ERROR:"INFO WebCache Retrieval of'https://servername/zenworks-registration/ostargets.xml' (try 3) failed: Error: ConnectFailure" in zmd-messages.log file.

ERROR:"JNDIRealm[Catalina]: Exception performing authentication javax.naming.CommunicationException: 127.0.0.1:10636 [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused]" in catalina.out file.
The ndsd daemon will not start.
The status of ndsd states:

Resolution

To fix this problem, zlm-config must be rerun which reinstalls ZENworks Linux Management.
It may be possible to perform a backup of the eDirectory object store and the Posgres data store, re-install ZLM, and then restore the object and data store. See Section V Disaster Recovery of the ZENworks 7.2 Linux Management on line documentation.

Additional Information

The root cause of the problem in this instance is unknown, however, because NICI was reinstalled on the server hosting ZLM, it was necessary to reinstall ZLM.
Note that in this instance, only a single ZLM Primary server existed in a single ZLM zone, no secondary servers existed.
