Can the help link for a Portlet be removed in the User Application?

By default, the help link for each portlet (i.e.: DetailPortlet) appears in the header area of the portlet. Is it possible to not have the help link appear for the portlet?


The ability for the Help link to appear in the Header area of a Portlet is controlled by a preference setting for each portlet. Below are the steps necessary to remove the Help Link for each Portlet (one at a time):

1. Login to the User Application as the Provisioning Administrator

2. Select the Administration Tab

3. Select the Portlet Administration Tab

4. Press the Plus sign next to Portlet Applications

5. Press the Plus sign next to the WAR (i.e. IDM (local) )

6. Scroll down to the Portlet that you want to modify

7. Press the Plus sign next to the Portlet Definition (i.e.: DetailPortlet)

8. Select the Portlet Instance under the Portlet Definition

9. Select the Settings Tab

10. Scroll down until you see 'Help' and then select the False radio button

11. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and press the Save Settings button

12. Return to the Shared Page where the Portlet was and the help link will no longer appear in the Header for that portlet (Sometimes, it is necessary to refresh your browser)

13. Repeat steps 3-11 for all of the portlets that the help link does not need to appear on
