Environment

Novell ZENworks 7 Asset Management - ZAM7
Novell ZENworks 7.5 Asset Management - ZAM7.5

Situation

You can configure the ZAM collection option set to Skip Directories that the collector scans reducing the number of Software Files gathered.

Resolution

  1. Variables are not supported in the skip directories. If one is used, the path isignored and has no impact on the scan.
  2. A '*' wildcard is allowed at the end of a skip dir path to indicate that all subfolders below that path will not be scanned. The files in the folder itself will appear in the scan. Example: For the skip directory "C:\temp\*", the files in c:\temp will be picked up in the scan but all subfolders of c:\temp will be skipped. The wildcard cannot be used to indicate a partial folder name. In this case, the path is ignored and has no impact on the scan. Example: c:\temp*.
