Situation

Remote Control initiated from a 6.5 console and targeted to a 6.5 agent throws this 1807 error and then the session continues (if the effective policy does not require session encryption in the policy).

ERROR: 1807: An error occurred while generating a session key for encryption. You will not be able to encrypt the session. Contact Novell Technical Services and specify this error code.
ERROR: 1809: An error occurred while generating a session key for encryption. You will not be able to encrypt the session. Contact Novell Technical Services and specify this error code.

Resolution

ZDM 6.5
Fixed in Service Pack 1 for ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management
ZDM 7
Delete the SID from c:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\ on the console machine.

Additional Information

One instance of this error was a result of a file locked in c:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\ on the console machine.
