Sparse files corrupt after restore from tape. Outlook PST files

Outlook PST files would be corrupt after a restore from tape. These are sparse files. A binary compare of the original file and the restored file indicated differences. This problem happened to any sparse file, not just PST files. There was a problem with tsafs.nlm where the variable used to keep track of how much data was left to write to the file was getting corrupt.
