Novell Access Management 3 Java Agents
Situation
Installing JBOSS J2EE Agent on SLES9 SP3 server failed with following message:
Error creating the certificates necessary to run the NESP.
Terminating Install.
Resolution
Re-install the nici-2.7.xx rpm package manually.
The agent installation was failing on the SLES9SP3 server. Looking at the output of the install.sh bash script with the 'set -x' command added, we could see that the 'makecert' script failed while redirecting/accessing the '/var/opt/novell/nici/nicumud' directory. The agent install log file in /tmp/novell_access_manager reported a'No such file or directory' error accessing /var/novell/nici/nicimud.
The nici directory and subdirectories were missing from /var/opt/novell. Forcing a re-install of the nici-2.7.xx rpm package automatically created the directory structure that was missing. Once done, a new install of the Access Manager 3 j2ee agent worked fine.
