oes-edir88 channel shows an error dowloading patchlist

Environment

Novell Open Enterprise Server 1 (Linux OES 1)

Situation

When using rug to update the OES server then viewing the rcd-messages.log file you will see the following errors:

COMPLETE'Downloadinghttps://update.novell.com/data/$RCE/oes-edir88/getPatchList/oes-9-i586'time=0s (failed)

Unable to download patch list: File not found -https://update.novell.com/data/$RCE/oes-edir88/getPatchList/oes-9-i586

This happens if you are subscribed to the oes-edir88 channel or not.

Resolution

The oes-edir88 channel only contains packages. The rcd agent will scan for a Patchlist on all channels and it will get this error since oes-edir88 does not have any patches. It also does a getPackagelist which will bring the oes-edir88 package information down from the update server.
