Situation

Unable to install the ZAM client in an non-Windows Domain environment using the Remote Client Install tool from the Manager.
  • Authentication Failed: Error Code: 1203. No network provider accepted the given network path.
  • Error 53: Network path not found installing client with RCI TID #10100897
  • Authentication Failed. Error Code: 5. Access Denied.
  • Logon unsuccessful with a continuous login prompt

Resolution

Verify the following configuration for the remote machine:
  1. Verify the local file system is sharedand accessible by the username specified in the RCI tool.
  2. Verify simple file sharing is disabled.(Open explorer window | Tools | Folder Options | View | Simple File Sharing)
  3. Turn off any personal firewalls.
  4. Ensure File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks is enabled.
  5. Verify Remote Procedure Call (RCP) service is running.
