Environment

Novell GroupWise 7

Novell GroupWise 7 Client for Macintosh

Macintosh OS X 10.4.X

Situation

Error loading GroupWise 7.0.x client for Macintosh

Error: "cannot launch Java application
Uncaught exception in main method: java.lang. Unsatified Link Error: /Applications/groupwise.app/contents/resources/Java/libgwapijini.jnilib"

Resolution

Customer was attempting to run the PowerPC version of the GroupWise Client for Macintosh on a Mac that had an Intel CPU.

Because Apple switched processor architectures (from PowerPC to Intel x86) after the initial release of the GroupWise 7.0, Novell provides separate versions of the GroupWise 7.0.x client for each processor platform. You must use the version of the client that matches your CPU.

When downloading or installing the GroupWise 7.0x client for Macintosh, the file name for the Intel version of the client will include the letter "i" in the file name, as in the following example for the 7.02 version of the client:
