Situation
After a Netware 6.5 server migration from one server to another
newer box, when most any user in GroupWise 6.5 sp6 tries to log
into their mailbox the client seems to hang and never report back
an error. They see the message saying "connecting via " and the GroupWise splash screen, but nothing
else.
Resolution
It was discovered that the POA configuration settings listed in the
POA log file showed the wrong IP address for the server , even
though the POA object had the correct IP address under it's object
in ConsoleOne. We found that the HOSTS file in the SYS:\etc
directory had the old and new ip address, we removed the old one
and rebooted the server and correct IP address is now listed in the
POA configuration settings in the log file and this problem want
away.
