Error: 8509 when loading Post Office Agent on SLES10

Situation

Symptoms:
An Error: "8509 TCP/IP services on your system may not be configured or installed" is received when loading the Post Office Agent on a Linux server.

Resolution


Corrective Actions:
1.Check the Network Address Settings in POA properties in ConsoleOne .
2. Rebuild Post Office database.

If after doing above steps it does not get resolved then follow step 3

Manually add IP address of the Post Office Agent in its startup file.

 

The problem can also be caused by an incorrect IP address used in the POA startup file. Look for the IP switch and update the value to the correct IP address.
