Environment

Novell Identity Manager 3.5

Situation

When starting the User Application Driver before starting the User Application, the driver says that it is not activated and shows an expiration date, even though it is activitated.
The expiration date is also visible in the User Application trace.

Resolution

This is expected behavior. The User Application must be running prior to starting the UserApplication Driver.

Additional Information

If the User Application is not available (started) when the driver starts, it cannot get the edition code, and therefore if your evaluation period is up, your driver will show as expired. To check the validity of the licence we have to establish whether the UserApplication has been installed as provisioning, a base install or installed at all, the User Application hasto be running to get the credentials.
If you start a driver with the User Application running it will be be able to check the credentials and you will not have this problem, provided you have an evaluation that is not expired.
