Environment

Formerly TID 2927060
Novell NetWare 4.11
Novell NetWare 5.0
Novell NetWare 4.2

Situation

Undesired inetcfg command from autoexec
Error: "Protocol Will Not Bind."
Get an error when trying to bind a protocol in INETCFG.
After changing the internal ipx address the server would not bind all the protocols to the right boards.
A BIND GATEWAY command, shows up in INETCFG under View Configuration.
Server unable to ping itself.

Resolution

Remove the wrong load statement from NETINFO.CFG following the steps outlined in solution "How To Edit NETINFO.CFG Outside Of INETCFG". Once the wrong load statement was removed the server booted with out a problem.

Additional Information

A wrong load statement was entered into the NETINFO.CFG file causing protocols to be bound to the wrong lan card. This was discovered after reviewing the lan and protocol statements after running CONFIG and reviewing each line of lan information on the screen. Once this was noted all boards could be loaded and the protocol bound manually. In looking at the AUTOEXEC.NCF file the erroneous LOAD statement could not be found. In another case A BIND GATEWAY command, shows up in INETCFG under View Configuration. The gateway command should be removed.
