Environment

Novell NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 5
Novell NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 6
Novell Open Enterprise Server (NetWare based)
Novell Cluster Services
Business Continuity Cluster 1.0
Business Continuity Cluster 1.1

Situation

The "IP address" field of a cluster resource shows empty in iManager and ConsoleOne when you check the properties of the cluster resource.
If you enter the IP address and save the changes and check again, the IP address field is empty again.

Resolution

The problem is that the eDirectory link on the cluster resource to the Virtual NCP server is missing.
To add it, please do the following:

- In ConsoleOne, open the properties page for the cluster resource that has the issue.
- In the resource property page, you must disable the "IP Address" tab via the "Page Options" button.
- Close and reopen the property page for the Cluster resource.
- Go to the "Other" tab.
- Add the attribute "NCS:NCP Server" and point it to the virtual NCP server for the resource.
- Enable the "IP Address" tab again via the steps in #2 above.
- Click OK to save the changes.

Below is a full list of the eDirectory links:
