-610 returned by iMonitor "Validate object"

"Validate object" returns -610 error for the Reference attribute in iMonitor
ERROR: -610 FFFFFD9E ILLEGAL_NDS_NAME

The object which iMonitor tries to validate has a link to an object in the Reference attribute which has dot (.) in the name of the object (like CN=Novell\.User). This is causing the -610 error for iMonitor. The issue has been reported to engineering, however it does not cause any troubles except the "Validate object" feature to fail.
