Novell Open Enterprise Server (Linux based)
Situation
Attempting to run linux rpm to update novell-ncpserver results in following errors:
file /var/opt/novell/log from install of novell-ncpserv-2.0-18 conflicts with file from package novell-filesystem-0.0.1-3
file /var/opt/novell/log from install of novell-ncpserv-2.0-18 conflicts with file from package novell-nrm-1.3-8
file /var/opt/novell/log conflicts between attempted installs of novell-nss-4.9.28-1 and novell-ncpserv-2.0-18
Resolution
There is a bug in the novell-ncpserv rpm that prevents it from upgrading properly. To resolve this, add the --replacefiles option to the documented command:
rpm -Fvh --replacefiles novell-ncpserv-2.0-18.i386.rpm
