Environment
Novell iPrint Client for Linux
Situation
CUPS prompts for local CUPS user account when trying to install an
iPrint printer. This is expected behavior when the iPrint
client for high security installed, but now when the low security
client is installed.
Resolution
1. Verify that the Low Security iPrint client is installed
by typing this command:
rpm -qa |grep iprint
The following should be returned:
novell-iprint-xclient-sl.....
(look for "sl", which means SecureLow)
2. Comment out the following within the
/etc/cups/cupsd.conf
Require user
AuthType Basic
Require user
AuthType Basic
This directives may show up more than once in the conf
file. Comment out all references.
3. Restart CUPS
/etc/init.d/cups
restart
