Situation
How to uninstall and reinstall Apache Tomcat and iManager 2.5
Resolution
Below are the steps to perform these tasks:
1. Type the following on the server console:
java -exit
ap2webdn
admsrvdn
2. Load Startx on the server console. Select Install and select the following products:
Apache 2 Web Server and Tomcat Servlet Container
Apache2 Admin Server
Tomcat 4 Admin Instance
Novell iManager 2.5
NOTE:By selecting to remove Tomcat 4 and Apache2, you will essentially be removing all web based products on your server and their configuration (i.e. iFolder, NetStorage, eGuide, Portal Services, Virtual Office, etc). These products will need to be reinstalled again after you finish the procedure in this TID.
3. Once complete delete the following directory from the SYS: volume
sys:tomcat/4/webapps/ (note: move the nps directory under here to another volume if you have custom role and tasks - these can be re-installed later)
4. Re-install the products listed in step 2. Below are the steps:
- Mount the NetWare Support Pack Overlay Products CD that matches your installed version and Support Pack version.
- Load " startx " at the server console.
- Select Novell - Install - Add.
- Using the file browser, browse to the mounted CD's ni file at the root of the CD. You will then be given a screen with a list of products to install similar to the initial upgrade\install screen. From here add back the products removed.
5. Once this is complete reset the server and iManager should be functioning normally again.
