Environment

Novell Apache 2.0
Novell Tomcat 4.0
Novell GroupWise 7
Novell GroupWise WebAccess 7

Situation

Symptoms:
Icons missing on Novell GroupWise 7 WebAccess login page.
Error: "String table file not found: css.CssResources".
String table file not found error appears at the top of Novell GroupWise 7 WebAccess login page.
Novell GroupWise 7 WebAccess language selection page redirects to company.com/servlet/webacc instead of company.com/gw/webacc.
Users are still able to successfully login to WebAccess even though the page displays incorrectly.
Changes:
Upgraded Novell GroupWise WebAccess to version 7.

Resolution

Replace the index.html file in your document root (sys:\apache2\htdocs) with the index.html file found in the sys:\tomcat\4\webapps\gw folder.
***This can only be done if the webserver only hosts Novell GroupWise WebAccess. If it also hosts other services, replacing the index.html file will cause those services to not function.
If the webserver hosts other services, then the index.html file must be modified to redirect WebAccess users to company.com/gw/webacc instead of company.com/servlet/webacc.

Additional Information

Root Cause:
Novell GroupWise WebAccess version 7 comes with a change to the redirect url from the language selection page to the login page. In previous versions of WebAccess, the language selection page would redirect to company.com/servlet/webacc. In GroupWise 7 WebAccess this is changed to company.com/gw/webacc. Thus if the index.html file located in the web server's document root directory does not get updated to the version that ships with GroupWise 7, the above errors will occur as the user gets redirected to company.com/servlet/webacc instead of company.com/gw/webacc.
The index.html file located in the sys:\tomcat\4\webapps\gw folder is the correct version to use with Novell GroupWise 7 WebAccess.
