Situation
Linux Access Gateway (LAG) configured and working fine with
the Support Pack 3. After upgrading to the Access Manager 3.0 SP4 build on the LAG, the LAG
health screen would show the following status:
Embedded
Service Provider Communication -1 configure requests awaiting
response. Tomcat returning 50x, assuming esp-offline
Restarting the service provider on the LAG or rebooting the server did not help
Resolution
This is a cosmetic issue caused by the fact that tomcat has not fully initialised when the health check is performed. The next healthcheck is not performed for another few minutes so the status remains unchanged unless the 'update from server' option is selected to force the update. As soon as a user accesses a protected
resource on the LAG, the metadata is exchanged between the LAG and
Identity Server and the health screen will also start reporting green.
