Situation

How to change the default welcome page to contain a footer with a warning message.

Resolution

In order to change the default welcome page to contain a footer with a warning message, the following steps are needed:
1) Log in as a User Application Administrator and select thePage Admintab under theAdministrationtab.
2) Click the link Maintain Container Pages.
3) Select GuestContainerPage page.
4) At the bottom of the page, click the Select Layout link or the icon just above it.
5) In the Layout Selector dialog scroll down and select the Header Nav Content Footer layout and then click Select Layout.
6) At the bottom of the page click the Arrage Content link or the icon just above it.
7) In the bottom layout section which is empty, click the linkAdd Content.
8) Scroll the list of Available Content until you see Message portlet, then select it.
9) Click Select Content link.
10) Click the preferences icon on the Message portlet.
11) If prompted to save your changes, clickOK.
12) Click the View/Edit Custom Preference link for the Message preference.
13) Click the Go link.
14) In the text editor, write the warning text that you desire to appear in the Message portlet.
15) Click Save button.
16) Click Return to List View link.
17) Click Save Preferences button.
18) Click Save Layout link.
19) Click Logout.
20) Access the User Application again in a new browser window to return to the welcome page. The message portlet is available in the welcome page.
