Environment
Novell Open Enterprise Server (OES)
Novell Open Enterprise Server (Linux based)
Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server
Situation
Customer has an active subscription with an active registration
code and then renews that subscription. Why then are they
getting emails from Novell warning them of a subscription that is
going to expire?
Resolution
Every purchase of a subscription generates a new registration code
to be used for the duration of that subcription time period.
When a customer renews their subscription, they receive a new code for the next term or date range, and the old registration code still expires.
Emails are still automatically sent to the customer from Novell, warning them that the old registration code is expiring, but they don't need to worry if they already received and registered their new (renewal) activation code.
It is very important for customers to register each activation code (for each subscription) when they purchase or renew their products.
