Situation

Error during Migration Wizard upgrade: "Can't license the connection to server Please install the licenses"

Resolution

Turn off all the workstations that are connected to the server. Use Monitor - Connections to verify that all the workstations are logged out. Re-attempt to login with the workstation you are running Migration Wizard 6 on. You should then be able to continue the migration.

Additional Information

Until licenses are installed, there are only two fully licensed connections available to log into the server. You cannot install the licenses until the upgrade is complete. One cause of the two licenses being used are having workstation already logged into the server. The workstation will auto-reconnect. The first two to do so will take up the two licensed connections.
