How to export the inventory information that is available via Novell Remote Manager

From within Novell Remote Manager, there is an option to run a Inventory report against existing volumes (Manage Server, Volumes, select a volume from the list of available volumes on the server and click on the "Inventory" link at the top of the page).

However there is no way from within Novell Remote Manager to export this information into XML file.

The same can be accomplished by issuing the "Inventory" command directly from the server console. This will scan each of the mounted volumes on the server and write the inventory and trustee information out to two XML files at the root of each volume:

- Volume_Inventory.xml
- Volume_Trustees.xml

On subsequent use of the inventory command these files are overwritten. To keep the information from previous files rename or move these files to a different location on the server before executing the "Inventory" command again.

The "Inventory" command is not a NetWare Loadable Module (NLM) but a internal server command.
