After applying eDirectory 8.7.3 IR6 " LDAP not listening " messages are seen.

Novell eDirectory 8.7.3 for Linux
Novell eDirectory 8.7.3 IR6

Situation

Server had eDir8736.exe applied.
After applying eDirectory 8.7.3 IR6 " LDAP not listening " messages are seen.
DSTrace with the ldap flag shows the following messages on the trace screen:

" Novell eDirectory LDAP Server TCP port is not listening "

"Novell eDirectory LDAP Server TLS port is not listening "

Resolution

Simply wait a few minutes for eDirectory services to be fully initialized before attempting to bind to the LDAP service.

Additional Information

There was a code change made in eDirectory IR6 where ldap services will not be active until all eDirectory services have started.
