Environment

Novell GroupWise 6.5
Novell GroupWise 7

Situation

Manually assigned eDir attributes to GroupWise Resource objects are not synchronized in a GroupWise system.

Resolution

There are few eDir attributes that are not native to a GroupWise Resource object like, for instance Mobile, Street, Postal(ZIP) Code, City, RoomNumber. It is possible to assign those new attributes via ConsoleOne Schema Manager, however, any values filled in later are not synchronized in a GroupWise system address book.
This is considered being an Enhancement Request and we will look at it in any future GroupWise release.

Additional Information

Steps to duplicate:

1. Start ConsoleOne and create in a GroupWise system new resource.

2. Highlight any eDir container in a tree and from Tools start Schema Manager.

3. Scroll down and find GroupWise Resource item. Highlight it and click on Info.

4. Note that for instance eDir attribute mobile is not a native attribute of GroupWise Resource object. Click on Add Attribute and add eDir mobile attribute.

5. Go in GroupWise view and view properties of the resource object. Go in Other tab. Click here on Add and add eDir attribute mobile. Fill in there any numeric value.

6. Go in Tools | System Operations | Admin Defined Fields. Assign to one free admin field eDir property mobile.

7. Check properties of a GroupWise domain. Go in GroupWise | Address Book. Add available item mobile to address book fields.

8. Now login to any mailbox that belongs to this domain. Open GroupWise System Address book and activate new tab - mobile. There is no value displayed for the resource.

9. If the same steps are repeated for a user object, then in step 8 there will be displayed a value filled in for the mobile attribute.
