Environment

Novell Client for Windows 2000/XP/2003 4.91 File Access
Novell Client for Windows 2000/XP/2003 4.91 Support Pack 1 File Access
Novell Client for Windows 2000/XP/2003 4.91 Support Pack 2 File Access
Novell NetWare Small Business Suite 6.0 Support Pack 5
Novell NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 5
AutoDesk Inventor
AutoDesk Mechanical Desktop

Resolution

There is a user selectable parameter that can be set to not cache locally and to commit to the server when the application requests for a save. Here's how to do this:
  1. Look for the Novell "N" in the task bar area of the computer screen

  3. Click on Properties
  4. Click on the Advanced Settings tab
  5. Select File Caching and select Off from the drop down box
