Situation
During NALWIN or NALVIEW startup when the launcher flag for "Always evaluate referrals" is explicitly or effectively set to "Yes" on a user object, sometimes the referrals are requested, but sometimes they are not. The problem seems random and intermittent. NALDIAG always shows the flag as set.
LAN Traces show that sometimes "NDS Resolve Name" is sent, but sometimes it is not sent. In cases where this flag is used to avoid WAN traffic, it can cause slow NALWIN launches.
Resolution
Fixed in ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Service Pack 1 Interim Release 3a, see KB 3484245 "Updates to Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
