Environment
Novell eDirectory 8.7 for All Platforms
Situation
Upgraded the server to eDirectory 8.7
When a R/W replica is removed, Subordinate references do not disappear.
When a R/W replica is removed, Subordinate references do not disappear.
Resolution
These subref partitions will delete on their own after two skulk
cycles. The additional delay in removing these causes no problems
at all. You can speed up this process by forcing a heatbeat and
then the purger process. This can be perfomed using the trace
function in iMonitor for all platforms or the set dstrace command
on NetWare (set dstrace=on set dstrace=+s set dstrace=*h set
dstrace=*f)
Additional Information
We now use different code when removing a child subordinate
reference partition. In order to verify partitioning completion,
maintain tree walking and consistancy we leave the subordinate
reference partition for 2 synchronization cycles in order to verify
the ring of the master.
